JOB TITLE: Senior Marketing Project Manager SALARY RANGE: Min.: $84,419 Mid.: $105,524 Max.: $126,629 HAY POINTS: 611 DEPT/DIV: Customer Communications SUPERVISOR: Director, Marketing Production LOCATION: 2 Broadway, New York, NY 10004 HOURS OF WORK: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (7 1/2 hours/day) DEADLINE: Open Until Filled In order to protect our employees and continue to provide safe and reliable service to our communities, as of November 14, 2021 we are requiring all new MTA hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to their start date. MTA will consider exceptions for religious and medical reasons, where appropriate. “Fully vaccinated” means you must have both doses of a 2-dose vaccine and two weeks have elapsed since the second dose, or have received 1 dose of a 1-dose vaccine and two weeks have elapsed since the dose. Summary
|
|
Plan, organize, coordinate, manage, deliver (or cancel if not justified or budget conscious) the execution and implementation of highly visible communication programs and campaigns that influence and positively impact MTA customers. From inception to completion, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring account executives, creative design and content teams, channel managers and agency partners collaborate, are aligned and productive on projects, objectives and deliverables that are targeted to improve the agency’s overall brand and public image. This role will encompass the MTA vision of “one-voice” customer communication including campaigns about new program initiatives, station enhancements, operating improvements and customer experience, service change information, wayfinding, safety, etc.

Responsibilities
|
|
- Estimate availability of necessary resources and work closely with project management and creative teams to implement external and internal communications campaigns to improve customer information and positively impact perception about the agency and its brand. This requires the simultaneous management and delivery of multiple, high quality, multi-channel, mixed-media communication projects and programs.
- Manage and track tasks and activities of account executives, designers, copy writers, printers, channel strategists and distributors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Ensure project integrity by establishing working relationships with agency partners/clients. Manages multiple creative initiatives for client programs that may include, but are not limited to: safety, wayfinding, service information, Transit Museum, etc.
- Communicate with key stakeholders and external vendors while managing associated contracts to develop and track deliverables, as needed.
- Utilize and optimize industry project management software to collaborate, document, track, and manage project progress and status. Ensure all team members use PM software for accountability, resource management, and continual delivery of high-quality output. Provide real time status updates/reports to management.
- Revise and update procedures, design guidelines and standards to produce customer information materials to elevate the design aesthetics and enforce a strict quality control standard.
- Evaluate and manage project risk, using risk management tools and processes for project management. Incumbent must be able to diffuse and adjust for obstacles that may impact project completion.
- Select, develop and motivate personnel within the department. Provide career development for subordinates. Provide prompt and effective coaching and counseling. Responsible for discipline/termination of employees when necessary. Review performance of staff. Create a professional environment that respects individual differences and enables all employees to develop and contribute to their full potential.

Qualifications
|
|
Ability to establish timelines and track projects to ensure delivery on deadline. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to work with all internal levels within a given organization. Demonstrated ability to work in a high profile, high pressure environment effectively. Demonstrated ability to manage and complete short and long-term projects effectively and as efficiently as possible. Knowledge of project management software and applications. Knowledge and understanding of MTA organization and interdepartmental structures/dependencies. Ability to work outside of normal work hours (i.e. evenings and weekends). Ability to travel to other MTA locations or other external sites. Preferred Qualifications: Substantial marketing or communications project management skills. Solid experience with project management software in a customer communications capacity. Digital, media, Internet/web/HTML savvy and knowledge of transit information are desirable. Prior experience working in a large, multi-faceted, fast-paced organization or governmental body.

Education and Experience
|
|
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited college may be considered in lieu of a degree. A minimum of eight years of professional experience with a minimum of 6 years in contract, project and stakeholder management experience.
|

|
As an employee of MTA Headquarters, you may be required to complete an annual financial disclosure statement with the State of New York, if your position earns more than $101,379 (this figure is subject to change) per year or if the position is designated as a policy maker.
